I wanted give a shout out to a couple of friends who are hosting the SF International South Asian Film Festival this weekend. 

I'm going and am looking forward to the mix of films they'll be screening - from ultimate Bollywood camp to serious documentaries.  (not that I necessarily support Arundhati Roy's wacky fantasy world).  A 2 day pass to all 7 films costs $37.

As much as I b*tch and moan about SF politics, I have to admit there are many aspects of SF  that I LOVE -- particularly the cultural scene  (to my critics - please don't start about how pinko-liberal politics are somehow responsible for our cultural scene.... let's not go there for now).
