I was on a biz trip a few months ago and snapped this pict of a billboard -

"Europe Brings Freedom - The EU provides Freedom, Security, and Stability"

All good things, I suppose.  But "stability" as one of the top 3 functions of the EU is an interesting thing to promote.   It would be very hard to imagine, for ex., the US government promising "stability" to its citizenry in quite the same way.
