Libertarianism

Politically, I'm a pretty hard-core libertarian. I've been so for almost as long as I my very deep-seated conviction that economic progress was fundamental to human existence.

The Reason Foundation Publishes Reason Magazine, an excellent biweekly magazine analyzing current events in a free-market spotlight.
The Cato Institute Probably the most intelligent think tank in Washington -- and quickly becoming one of the most influential. Emphasizing real-world, near-term, solutions to today's problems.
Bionomics Institute Argues the social intrinsicness of capitalism by pointing out the parallels between economics and biology. The cornerstone of this insitute is the book Bionomics -- a synopsis is available from my friend Manish (who is slowly seeing the libertarian light even though he went to Berkeley).

News

I'm also a news junkie. I used to spend a lot of time catching up with daily events. Lately, more of my time has been shifting from the world to the computer industry.

MSNBC Microsoft's foray into 24 hr news coverage. Create your own personalized news page! Excellent feeds from the PR newswire.
CNN Interactive The old vanguard of 24 hr news
PCWeek Updated 3 times a day!
Infoworld A second viewpoint to PCWeek
C-NET News Not as frequently updated as PC Week or Infoworld but I LOVE the pointers they give to other headlines from other news sites. Not to mention grabbing the domain name to have in this niche of the industry...

Misc. Fun

Things that don't fit in the above categories...

Sledge Hammer The best TV show EVER!
The A-Team Also a great show. I love it when a plan comes together
Backyard Ballistics Semi-delinquent fun you can have with do-it-yourself projectiles and explosives -- quoting from the site -- "These things have a tendency to attract every 8-12 year old kid in the neighborhood"
PowerTV My almost employer. On the whole, I don't have second thoughts about choosing Microsoft.
True Country Music Song Titles I've gotta be one of the few Indians who's into country music / humor. There are some classics on this list truly embodying redneck class & honesty including "You're the reason our kids are so ugly"
You know you're a redneck if... By one of the greatest minds of the 20th century -- Jeff Foxworthy
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance I don't know how to begin to describe it. One of my all time favorite books. A pillar in the church of Valloppillilian thought. I'm not sure how "Brian Sullivan" can legally publish the ENTIRE book but here it is: HTTP://skynet.ul.ie/~chopper/zen/
HHRP My Internet Draft. Somewhat shameless self promotion (as if the web site was the vanguard of humility...)
High Five Awards Recognizing excellence in web site design.

Business & Industry Links
Microsoft The beginning of every industry list
Cisco No list is complete without it -- esp. if you are into networking
Netscape Ditto
Novell Slowly dying but several million nodes isn't something to laugh at
Aventail A small start-up driving the SOCKS standard for firewall traversal
Upside Magazine A great high-tech business magazine
Red Herring ditto; More of a focus on high tech entrepreneurship.

Nukes

When I was younger, nuclear war fascinated me for some reason. I guess it still does. My friends are concerned by this. Here's someone who knows a lot more about it than me.
